May 24th, Part Jen

May 24
We had another leisurely morning, sleeping until 10am, followed by a long steamy shower with near boiling water, topped off with a hearty breakfast of Snow Flakes (stale Frosted Flakes).
Junior had another day of half outside sunshine and half inside playtime. We tortured, um I mean challenged him inside by putting balls on the wall shelves just out of his reach so he really had to stretch for them. He figured out he could kind of climb the wall to get the ball. Hmmm, maybe that was not such a good idea to teach him. First time parents, yet another mistake. When he starts to scale the house we’ll wonder where he got the idea.
But our big news of the day was we got a court date, May 29th at 4pm…..the start of our 5th week here. After our visit with junior we went out to the airport to change Rob’s flight home. We thought it would be easy since we paid extra for the adoption fare to give us the ability to feelessly (like that word?) change the return date. Unfortunately there were no seats left on the flight, so we are looking into Rob flying home through Almaty. Lufthansa is checking with United to see if it’s allowed, and how much money it will cost. Hopefully by the weekend we'll have Rob’s travel plans ironed out.
On an unrelated topic, Rob is quite enamored with the MTV here. In a lot of the cafeteria style restaurants they have jumbo TV’s blaring MTV. And MTV is a bit edgier here, with lyrics about someone putting creamy stuff on someone’s coco puffs. And then Janet-Jackson-like full frontal reveals on videos, and not just for a split second, but for about 2 or 3 verses. At first it was funny, but then it got creepy. Oh how I wish they only have TV Land here, with Leave It To Beaver and The Andy Griffith Show.
For those asking for a name, and those who have talked to us and tried to trick us into revealing it, we’re keeping the lid on it until after court. But how about this one: Goulash Taylor.
